PHILOSOPHY AND MISSION |
PHILOSOPHYThe philosophy of St. Patrick Cathedral School is to provide a quality education in the context of our faith. Recognizing that each student is unique, we endeavor to create an atmosphere that encourages self-respect, personal integrity and individual dignity. With this in mind, we as a community are dedicated to the education of the whole child; a physical, intellectual, emotional, social, moral and spiritual being. We acknowledge that education is a life-long process that can be completed only through the mutual efforts of the parents, students and teachers. Further, we recognize the responsibility of all to ensure that learning takes place in a non-threatening, orderly environment. We accept as our responsibility the creation of an environment in which the student is encouraged to utilize his or her individual capabilities to their highest potential. Through the sharing of God's word, we strive to communicate Christian values that include respect for all life, concern for others without regard to race or religion, and a responsibility to the community. Pope John Paul II has called young people "the hope of the Church and of the world." It is therefore our aim to equip our students with the motivation, skills, knowledge and moral foundation that will prepare them to accept social responsibility and to realize personal success and spiritual salvation as the stewards and caretakers of God's world. |
MISSION STATEMENTSt. Patrick Cathedral School is a Catholic community united in our dedication to the sacred ministry of providing quality education in the context of our faith. We accept as our responsibility the development of the whole child-body, mind, and soul. Through the communication of Christian values, we guide our students on the path of spiritual and social development. Through the implementation of a sound academic curriculum, we enhance their intellectual growth, preparing them to accept social responsibilities. It is our intent that our students become standard bearers of the future, benefiting the Church, the nation, and the world. |
