Science Bowl 2010

This year's regional event was hosted at the University of Connecticut, http://www.uconn.edu, located in Storrs-Mansfield, CT, on February 27th, 2010. Twenty four middle school teams from all over New England came to compete in a sciece quiz bowl event to test their knowledge in numerous fields of science. In addition to the quiz bowl team there was a solar car race competition, of which there were seventeen teams. St Patricks solar car team placed second in the very competitive race. The students had to build the car on their own with only minimal guidance from their instructor, Mr. Hicks. The students were given a motor and a solar car panel. They could build the car in any manner they wished, the only requirement was it fit on a legal piece of paper and not have an alternative power source. The cars raced in singles thet were timed on a track length of 75 feet. If you would like to visit the web page for the event it can be viewed at: http://.mssb.uconn.edu/ .
